Energetic pupils leapt into action to raise funds for charity.
Youngsters from Poringland Primary School took on different physical challenges to show their support for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
One of the charity’s bases, The Nook, in Framingham Earl, is less than a mile from the school, in The Footpath.
Every year group tackled separate exercises, ranging from a dance workout and burpees to hopping, skipping and jumping.
The children also received a special visit from EACH Senior Community Fundraiser Ellie Miller and mascot ECHO!
The latter helps describe the charity’s work to children and the letters stand for ‘Everyone in the family is included’, ‘Care for children who are poorly’, ‘Home or hospice, wherever we’re needed’ and ‘Outstanding care and support when families need it most’.
Teacher and Fundraising Lead Carrie Hayes said: “We had a fantastic day and it was a lovely way to bring the whole school together.
“The children embraced their challenges and the whole thing was made extra special thanks to Ellie and ECHO!
“Having them at the school made everything more meaningful and it was nice to learn more about EACH.
“The Nook is part of our community so we feel a real attachment.”
Ellie said it was a pleasure to be part of the fun.
“We’re very thankful to everyone at Poringland Primary School,” she added.
“The children clearly had a great time and, in addition to their fundraising, it was also important from an awareness perspective.
“ECHO! did a great job of helping me spread the word about our fantastic charity.”
Last year the pupils organised a colourful fun run for EACH.
They sported crazy hairstyles and odd socks and raised more than £1,000.
