Physio and occupational therapy

Physiotherapy and occupational therapy empower children to move with greater ease and confidence. These therapies also play a crucial role in alleviating pain, strengthening muscles and reducing stiffness. The aim of these therapies is to offer more independence to children, better quality of life and improved opportunities.

What we do

Our team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and physical therapies technicians support all three of our hospices, providing their expertise in working with children and young people with complex needs and their families.

They may assess a child’s positioning, moving and handling and physical skills and offer recommendations as required. Our team will always work in liaison with community therapists and other professionals from health, social and education services to ensure a child is receiving the best treatment both in and out of the hospice.

They can also assist with ideas relating to activities or personal care or problem solve around equipment issues.
