“It’s a special charity and, crucially, it’s local, helping people right here in the heart of our community” – visitors can pick sunflowers and raise funds for EACH while enjoying a relaxing day at Ha Ha Farm

Families have the chance to enjoy a striking sea of sunflowers while helping raise vital funds for charity.

The special event is being hosted by Ha Ha Farm, in the rolling patchwork countryside of Strumpshaw, near Norwich, on Wednesday, 7th August.

On that day, proceeds from the sales of sunflowers, which the public can pick for themselves, will go to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

There will also be collection buckets and fundraising activities, to help boost the total and heighten awareness of the charity’s work.

Ha Ha Farm has become a popular wedding and events venue since being opened by husband and wife Tom and Jo Wright, in 2019.

Set in woodland on a working farm, its sunflower patch is among the main attractions at this time of year.

Tom said: “We’re delighted to do whatever we can to support EACH.

“It’s a special charity and, crucially, it’s local, helping people right here in the heart of our community.

“That’s important to us and we know the money we raise will be spent wisely.”

After a challenging few months from a farming perspective, Tom says the sunflower patch is now looking resplendent.

“It’s going to be a lovely day and an opportunity for people to come along and sample the peace, tranquillity, sights and sounds of our magical farm,” he said.

“It’s a beautiful spot and the perfect place to enjoy some refreshments, while taking in the rustic surroundings.

“Entry is free and the proceeds from all sunflowers will go directly to EACH.”

The sunflower has been adopted by hospices across the world as a symbol of the care provided. The seed represents the patient and the petals represent love, care, and compassion.
