A mud-splattered event that features a host of wacky obstacles and raises thousands for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is returning in 2027.
Registration is now open for the family-friendly The Piglet, Junior Hog, which has become a popular highlight of EACH’s fundraising calendar and will take place at Wantisden Hall, near Woodbridge, on Sunday, 11th July.
Spaces are limited and early-bird prices are available for a short time.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing The Piglet, Junior Hog back in 2027,” said EACH Senior Events Fundraiser Ellie Nevard.
“It’s become a much-loved fixture in our fundraising calendar, and the countdown to next year’s event has now officially begun.
“Every year, we’re blown away by the enthusiasm of everyone who takes part.
“There’s something special about seeing children, parents, grandparents and friends tackle the course together, all while raising vital funds for local children and families receiving our care and support.
“After the incredible success of this year’s event, we’re already looking forward to another unforgettable day next summer and would encourage everyone to sign up and join us for a muddy adventure with family and friends.”
The Piglet, Junior Hog was first held in 2019, and this year’s event saw nearly 1,300 fundraisers get gloriously muddy while raising a jaw-dropping £48,000.
Families faced more than 30 obstacles along a fun-filled 4km course. They crawled through tunnels, splashed through muddy water, clambered over hay bales and embraced plenty of mud while helping raise vital funds for EACH.
For the first time, two types of ticket are available for next year’s event – a fundraising and a non-fundraising option.
“We’re aware that not everyone wants to fundraise, but to keep events like this running, we need the event costs to be covered,” added Ellie.
“The non-fundraising tickets are therefore a bit more expensive to help cover those costs.
“By selecting the most suitable ticket option, everyone who signs up is helping us continue providing care and support to children, young people and families across East Anglia.”
Fundraising early-bird tickets cost £22 and £16 for adults and children (up to and including the age of eight) respectively, and with this option each participant is asked to raise £40 in sponsorship. Non-fundraising tickets cost £32 and £26 respectively.
