Get ready for a muddy adventure like no other! The Piglet, Junior Hog is a fun-filled 4km obstacle course packed with mud, water and over 30 exciting obstacles. Climb, crawl, splash and scramble your way around the course while raising vital funds for EACH.

Open to children aged 8+ and their families, it’s a great option for anyone looking for a shorter distance obstacle event. There are waves times available every half hour from 9:30am onwards.

Every registration and fundraising effort helps us provide specialist care and support for children, young people and their families facing life-threatening conditions. By taking part, you are directly helping families across East Anglia at the toughest times in their lives.

Tickets:

This year, we’re giving you two ticket options: a Fundraising Ticket and a Non-Fundraising Ticket.

Your registration fee helps cover the costs of running our event, but it’s the money raised through fundraising that makes the biggest difference, helping us provide vital care and support for local children and families.

If you’d prefer not to fundraise as part of your challenge, we simply ask you to choose the Non-Fundraising Ticket, which has a slightly higher registration fee to ensure we can keep events like this running.

Fundraising Ticket

Adult Early Bird – £22

Child Early Bird – £16

With this option we ask each participant to aim to raise £40 in sponsorship.

Non-Fundraising Ticket

Adult Early Bird – £32

Child Early Bird – £26

Spaces are limited and early bird prices are available for a limited time.

FAQs

What is The Piglet, Junior Hog?

The Piglet, Junior Hog is a 4km obstacle course with over 30+ obstacles including water and mud. It is open for children (8+) and for adults who want to try an obstacle and mud course, we guarantee you’ll be covered in lots of mud!

Who can take part?

The minimum age is 8 years old. All children aged 8-11 must take part with a participating adult (18+) with a maximum ratio of 3:1. Children aged 12-15 can take part without an adult but must have a parent/guardians permission.

You can create a team when you register, think up a name and invite your friend and family to join. Any sports teams or large groups must make sure there is a ratio of 3 children to 1 adult.

Where is it held?

It’s at Wantisden Hall in Suffolk, which is easily accessible via the A14 and A12, the address is: Wantisden Hall, Wantisden Valley, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 3PQ.

What should I wear?

The majority of the course will be off-road and through mud and water. We therefore recommend footwear and clothing you do not mind getting dirty! You will be best off in trainers (PLEASE DON’T WEAR SPIKES DUE TO SOME OF THE OBSTACLES) and make sure they are laced up really well to avoid losing a shoe. We suggest long sleeved tops and leggings to cover knees, and gloves are also recommended. You will get muddy!

What do I receive when I register?

You will receive a confirmation email confirming your booking and a fundraising page for you to use. A month prior to the event, each lead booker will receive a welcome pack which includes important event information and your participant wristbands. Please ensure you add an emergency contact number on the wristbands and wear this on the day. The wristbands are unique to your booking and therefore must NOT be swapped with other people for health and safety reasons. You can add a free t-shirt to your booking if you wish and these will be available to collect on the day. At the end of the event you will receive a medal and a drink of water.

Do I have to raise sponsorship money?

This year we have introduced two ticket options: a Fundraising Ticket and a Non-Fundraising Ticket. Your registration fee helps cover the costs of running The Piglet, Junior Hog, but it’s your fundraising that truly makes an impact for local families at EACH. If you would prefer not to fundraise as part of your challenge, please choose the Non-Fundraising Ticket when registering to ensure we can keep events like this running and raising funds for EACH.

As a charity, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) receives limited government funding, just 15%, the rest comes from fundraising and donations. We need to raise £8.4m a year to help us continue providing care and support to children, young people and families across East Anglia during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

If you choose the fundraising option, we ask that you try to raise £40 per participant. An online fundraising page is set up for you when you register and a sponsor form is included in your entry pack and must be returned as soon as possible after the event, along with all the fantastic funds you have raised. Please make sure any donors tick the Gift Aid box where applicable, so we can make your donations go 25% further for our children, young people and their families.

Can I register on the day?

We recommend booking in advance as places may sell out. On-the-day entries cannot be guaranteed.

Can I bring my dog?

You can bring your dog to the event but unfortunately dogs cannot take part in this event so they will need to be left with a friend or family member who is not taking part. They will need to be kept on a lead due to livestock on the estate.

What facilities will be available at the event?

There will be toilets on site and simple open showers to help you rinse off the mud. Please do not expect to go home clean so please come prepared, we recommend that you bring an old towel, spare clothes and a bag to put your muddy clothes in. There are no changing facilities.

There will be a key drop available on the day for a suggested donation of £3, cash and card is accepted. Please do not leave anything valuable on show in your car. EACH cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings or vehicles.

Water will be available at the end of the event and there will also be a water station on the course. There will be refreshments available to buy at the event village.

Is there parking available?

Yes, parking is in the main area of Wantisden Hall. Please head to Wantisden Hall and you will then pick up signs for The Piglet, Junior Hog event once in the grounds. There is then a short walk down to the event village. There will be volunteers with EACH buckets collecting for EACH at the entrance/exit on the day so please bring any spare change.

Will there be photos of the day?

EACH will have photographers on site on the day but we cannot guarantee they will get a photo of every participant. We would love to see your photos from the day – please share them with us on our Facebook event page. If you bring your own camera or smartphone be sure you cover them well to protect them from the water and mud!

Where can I see my friends/family run?

Friends and family can be at the start/finish of the event. There is also a viewing area where you can see the last few obstacles before participants finish.

What happens if I cannot complete an obstacle?

If an obstacle isn’t for you, you can simply skip it and move on to the next one. Obstacles are not compulsory.

Is the event accessible?

Due to the nature of the terrain, mud and obstacles, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility aids. If you have any questions regarding accessibility, please contact the events team before booking.

What if it rains on the day?

Even better! The more mud the better!

Can I fundraise for another charity?

The Piglet, Junior Hog is organised by the team at EACH with the aim of raising funds for the work EACH does. Therefore, we ask that any participant taking part in this event raises sponsorship exclusively for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
