“They clicked instantly. Any nerves quickly disappeared, and it was like they’d known each other for ages” – new siblings are among those to enjoy an adrenaline-filled visit to Suffolk Ski and Leisure Park

Siblings being supported by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) slalomed into action during a high-octane trip to Suffolk Ski and Leisure Park.

The event was for children who are either bereaved or have a brother or sister receiving care at The Treehouse.

Eighteen youngsters took part and enjoyed the chance to whizz down the slopes on toboggans and Ringos.

“This venue is very popular with the children, and I can see why,” said EACH Groups and Events Co-ordinator Kelly Evans.

“It’s great fun, and one of the lovely things about this particular visit was that we were joined by several new siblings.

“They’d never done anything like this with us before, so it was great to see them enjoying themselves and integrating with the group.

“In fact, they clicked instantly. Any nerves quickly disappeared, and it was like they’d known each other for ages.”

The children ranged in age from four to 14, with the younger ones spending their time tobogganing and the older siblings having fun on the Ringos.

Lunch was provided by the centre, and then, in the afternoon, the children enjoyed a game of mini golf. There were also a craft activity to keep them entertained.

EACH runs sibling days during the school holidays, allowing youngsters to come together, have fun and make friends in a safe environment. This one took place on Tuesday, 18th February.
