One of Suffolk’s most historic venues is hosting a special open garden day for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The event is taking place in the picturesque grounds of Helmingham Hall, near Stowmarket, on Saturday, 10th May.
Visitors can explore a classic parterre garden, a stunning walled kitchen garden, an apple tree walk, a knot garden and beautiful wild area walks.
They will also be able to enjoy live music and refreshments from Wright’s Café.
The event is taking place with kind permission of Edward and Sophie Tollemache. The couple are EACH Ambassadors, and Helmingham Hall has been in their family since the 16th Century.
“The gardens are truly breathtaking, and we’re grateful to be given this special opportunity,” said EACH’s Community Fundraising Manager, Tina Burdett.
“Helmingham Hall is the most stunning, idyllic location, and the grounds are kept in pristine condition.
“It promises to be a very enjoyable day, and anyone interested in joining us is welcome to book up now.”
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, and the gates will be open from 10am until 4pm, with last entry at 3pm.
Tickets can be bought in advance by heading here. The cost is £10 for adults and £5 for children aged five to 15.
Online sales will close at 4pm on Friday, 9th May, but tickets will be available on the day at £12 for adults and £6 for five to 15-year-olds.
Helmingham Hall Marketing Manager Nick Punter said it was a pleasure to support EACH.
He said: “We’re thrilled to host this special open garden day.
“EACH provides exceptional care and support to children and families across East Anglia.
“The work it does is truly inspiring, and we’re excited to support such an incredible cause.
“It’s going to be a lovely day for a lovely cause, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone.”
Car parking is free, and the gardens are wheelchair accessible, albeit narrow in places.
