Golfers got in the swing for a day of fun competition – in the process putting a bumper £20,200 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The popular event, featuring 26 teams, was organised by top law firm Birketts, and held at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club.
Other highlights included a ‘Beat the Pro’ challenge – a one-on-one competition against Ryder Cup player and former European Tour number one Ronan Rafferty.
“It was a pleasure to once again host our annual golf day to raise funds for EACH and help the charity continue its incredible work,” said Chris Schwer, Senior Partner at Birketts and an EACH Trustee.
“The event is one we very much look forward to, and I would like to thank everyone who ensured this year’s was another resounding success.”
In addition to generous donations on the day, a charity auction and raffle were among the fundraising activities that took place, together raising more than £6,700.
Anna Bruce, EACH’s Senior Corporate Fundraiser for Suffolk, said: “We’re so grateful for the incredibly generous, continued support we receive from Birketts.
“It makes a tremendous difference and helps us continue our vital work, providing care and support for children and families across the region.
“Only 15% of our funding comes from statutory sources, so we rely heavily on donations and money raised from events such as this fantastic golf day.
“Our sincere thanks go to everyone who organised and participated in the event, and I’m so pleased it was such a success.”
The golf day took place on Friday, 25th April, and Birketts would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their generous donations: Aldeburgh Golf Club, Anglia Kart Racing, Chris Schwer, Coes, Compass Wines, Elite Universal, Felixstowe Golf Club, Flint Vineyard, Jarrolds, Jimmys Farm, Jimmy Nicholls, Norfolk Homes, Office IS, Royal West Norfolk Golf Club, Saffron Grange Vineyard, Shotley Vineyard, Suffolk Foodhall, Upper Grove Farm.
