Golfers got in the swing to show their support for a leading children’s charity.
The event, organised by law firm Birketts, took place at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club and raised more than £20,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Twenty-seven teams took part and there was healthy competition on the course, with participants signing up for a ‘Beat the Pro’ one-to-one challenge, taking on Ryder Cup player and former European Tour number one Ronan Rafferty.
“Our annual golf day is one of the highlights on my calendar and it was a pleasure to host it once again,” said Chris Schwer, Senior Partner at Birketts and Trustee of EACH.
“Thank you to all of those who took part, raising funds for such a vital local charity.”
Other fundraising elements on the day included a charity auction and raffle, which raised over £8,500.
Billie Nugent, EACH’s Senior Corporate Fundraiser for Suffolk and East Essex, said: “Once again, we’ve been blown away by the funds raised at Birketts’ golf day. These donations are so important to our charity, enabling us to support and provide care for children, young people and families.”
The Birketts golf day took place on Friday, 26th April.
