“The girls had such fun and exchanged phone numbers so they could keep in contact” – crafts, cupcakes and the chance to meet Pets as Therapy (PAT) dog Phoebe are among the highlights of a special day at Milton

Friendships blossomed during a fun-packed day organised for four girls receiving care from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The youngsters, aged between 12 and 17, came together at the charity’s Milton base and started with a game of curling, inspired by watching the Winter Olympics.

They then tried their hand at arts and crafts, including decoupage and making a friendship bracelet, before baking cupcakes themed around Wicked and Moana.

The girls enjoyed whisking the mixture and managed most of the baking with little adult help.

While the cakes were in the oven, they had lunch together before being able to decorate their sweet treats with colourful icing.

In the afternoon, the highlights including being introduced to Pets as Therapy (PAT) dog Phoebe, letting her sit on their laps, before the quartet had fun playing The Logo Board Game and the Yes or No game.

“The girls had such a fun day together, with lots of chatting throughout,” said Senior Care Assistant and Young Person Lead Sandra Holmes.

“With parents’ permission, they exchanged phone numbers so they could keep in contact with each other.

“It was lovely to see, and we also made a little booklet for each of the girls to take home with photos of their day together.”

The girls’ day took place at Milton on Sunday, 8th March.
