Hard-working volunteers were thanked for their immense contribution and heard more about the difference they make during a special celebration event.
The show of appreciation was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and took place at The Colchester Officers’ Club, in Londinium Road.
More than 60 volunteers attended, and one of the highlights was hearing from dad Dugald Black, who was joined by wife Kylie. Their three-year-old son, Mylo, receives care from EACH at The Treehouse, in Ipswich.
Volunteers listened to a presentation from Director of Retail Ian Nicolson, who gave updates from across the organisation, as well as having the chance to take part in a fun quiz and raffle.
They also tucked into a delicious afternoon tea-style lunch, with plenty of scones, cream and jam.
“It was amazing to see everyone come together to celebrate our wonderful volunteers in and around the Colchester area,” said EACH Volunteer Services Partner Scarlett Farnell.
“Their dedication, enthusiasm and generosity are incredibly important to us, and we simply couldn’t provide the level of support we do without them.
“Every hour they give helps make a difference, and this was a lovely opportunity to thank them personally, celebrate their achievements and share more about the impact they have.”
Most of the volunteers in attendance support EACH’s Retail operation across North Essex. The charity has shops in Colchester High Street, Stanway, Clacton, Dovercourt, Frinton and Halstead.
The thank you day took place on Wednesday, 21st October.
