“It gives the siblings an opportunity to be in a safe space, alongside children experiencing similar situations and having the support of each other” – spooky arts and crafts, slime and foam are among the highlights of a special Halloween treat

Youngsters enjoyed a day of Halloween treats during a spook-tacular sibling event organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Twenty-three children attended, and they were either bereaved or have a brother or sister receiving care at The Treehouse.

The fun-filled day included spellbinding arts and crafts, including getting messy making slime, and watching a Halloween film.

After lunch, the children came together for a special science party, with atmospheric dry ice provided by Science Boffins.

They got to enjoy the Elephant’s Toothpaste experiment, producing a mountain of frothing foam by decomposing hydrogen peroxide.

Other highlights included on-stage fire tricks and a witch’s cauldron.

“Being able to hold these events is so important,” said Kelly Evans, EACH’s Groups and Events Co-ordinator at The Treehouse.

“It gives the siblings an opportunity to be in a safe space, with children experiencing similar situations and having the support of each other and staff, as well as getting to participate in fun activities and days out.

“Although this was our last one of 2025, we’re already looking forward to some of the great plans we have in store for 2026.”
