“Everyone is welcome to join us for some festive cheer, family fun and community spirit – all while supporting a great cause” – young shoppers have the chance to hunt for mischievous hidden reindeer before meeting Santa Claus

A popular charity shop will be bursting with festive fun during a day of celebrations in Dovercourt.

Staff and volunteers from the town’s East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) store are inviting customers to join them between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, 20th December.

Young visitors will have the chance to meet Santa Claus, as well as hunting for mischievous hidden reindeer, while other activities include a raffle, tombola, children’s lucky dip and poignant memory tree.

“We’re hoping this event brings people together and gives families a magical day out,” said shop manager Kathryn Newell.

“Everyone is welcome to join us for some festive cheer, family fun and community spirit – all while supporting a great cause.”

There are 18 prizes up for grabs in the raffle, with the draw taking place at 4pm.

Customers also have the chance to buy a star and write messages on the shop’s memory tree, which is now taking pride of place.

“It’s incredibly special,” added Kathryn.

“Each star represents someone’s cherished memory or message of love, and seeing the tree fill up throughout the month is truly moving.

“People can dedicate a star for £1, and everyone is welcome to join us for a one-minute silence at 11am on Christmas Eve.”

Kathryn says she is always on the lookout for new volunteers willing to join her team at Dovercourt.
