“They were brilliant and fearless, putting their nerves to one side because they were so focused and passionate about raising funds for our charity” – ten skydivers plunge 13,000 feet to show their support for EACH

Fearless fundraisers showed nerves of steel to complete a thrilling skydive and show their support for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Ten people including a married couple, corporate friends and a mum whose daughter receives vital care took on the challenge at Beccles Airfield. They plunged 13,000 feet and collectively raised more than £8,000.

“It was an amazing day and real privilege to be part of such a special occasion,” said EACH Senior Community Fundraiser Natasha Butler. “I take my hat off to those that completed the jump. They were brilliant and fearless, putting their nerves to one side because they were so focused and passionate about raising funds for our charity.

“Their determination shone through, and it was a joy to witness people’s reactions when they got back on the ground. Even the most anxious loved every moment and wanted to do it again. We’re so grateful to our incredible skydivers and those that came along to support them, creating a real buzz. There were smiles all round, and we couldn’t have been happier to raise more than £8,000. It’s a significant amount of money that will help us continue our vital work.”

Among those to complete the challenge were married couple Stephen and Carrie Hayes. To make the day even more special, it was also Carrie’s birthday. Sabrina Wharton wanted to show her support as daughter Tilly receives care from EACH at The Nook. Stuart Wood ticked off one of his life goals as he has wanted to complete a skydive since he was 17. Partner Yi-Ting works for EACH at Milton. Sean Cross showed his head for heights by completing the challenge, as did Keith Gilbert, the Chairman of Breckland Council.

Meanwhile, Steven Puzey and Heidi Pezzotta took part, flying the flag for Bungay-based Roadtechs, as did Emma Bridges, from Ipswich’s Milestone Infrastructure.

The EACH skydive took place on Saturday, 26th April, and another date is already in the diary for 20th September. Click here to find out more and book your place.
