The spirit of Christmas will be shining bright at three special carol concerts raising funds and awareness for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The heart-warming services are taking place in Holt, Saffron Walden and Norwich, on 2nd, 16th and 19th December respectively.
All three promise to be magical celebrations of the festive season, featuring performances from local choirs, readings and joyous carols.
There will be collections midway through, and the public are invited to stay behind for refreshments and a raffle afterwards.
“Our carol services are a perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit,” said Natasha Butler, EACH’s Senior Community Fundraiser for Norfolk.
“We’re calling on the community to come along, sing their hearts out and help raise vital funds for the children and families receiving our care and support.
“Both services are going to be magical, and it’s the perfect opportunity to share the joy of music while supporting a truly wonderful cause.
“These services are a reminder of the goodwill within our communities and how coming together can make a real difference.”
The North Norfolk event is taking place at the historic and beautiful Gresham’s School chapel, getting underway at 6pm on 2nd December.
The car park is gravel, and there is a short walk to the chapel. The majority of seating is tiered benches with a limited amount of wheelchair spaces.
The second EACH service is at Saffron Walden Baptist Church and starts at 7pm on 16th December.
The main entrance to the church has steps, but there is a flat entrance at the side.
EACH’s third service is taking place at the historic St Peter Mancroft Church, in the heart of Norwich.
It begins at 6.30pm on 19th December and will feature a performance by popular band Sons of Mark, who made the news earlier this year after recording a song in memory of Kayla Buttle. The brave seven-year-old was diagnosed with the rare condition neuroblastoma in 2021 and received end-of-life care at The Nook.
Nearby public car parks include Chantry, The Forum, Chapel Field and St Giles – all with Blue Badge spaces.
Both North and South doors offer level access for wheelchairs. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome and a hearing loop is available.
“Our carol services are always a highlight of the festive season,” said Victoria Goldsmith, EACH’s Senior Community Fundraiser for Cambridgeshire and West Essex.
“They bring people together in the most heart-warming way, and every penny raised helps us continue supporting families who rely on our support.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who comes along and look forward to seeing them on the night.”
Entry is free, but anyone intending to come along is encouraged to pre-register beforehand by using these links for the Holt, Saffron Walden and Norwich services.
