“One family said how much they love coming here, describing it as a place where they connect and make happy memories. They feel close to their daughter and it’s a safe space where they can talk about her and their experience” – The Nook hosts its first Easter Family Fun Day

Families got to stroke animals, play games, enjoy arts and crafts and hunt for eggs during a day of Easter fun at The Nook.

The afternoon was for children and families receiving care and support from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

As well as a visit from Cherry Tree Petting Farm, other highlights included garden games, racing wind-up chicks, a pin the tail on the bunny contest, a competition to name animals, colouring activities and the chance to make windmill daffodils and finger-printed Easter cards.

“The weather was kind, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we received so much positive feedback,” said Louise Gower, EACH’s Service Manager at The Nook.

“One parent spoke about having fun and creating memories, and another said her daughter had the ‘best time’.

“We were delighted everyone had such a lovely time and it was undoubtedly a successful afternoon, especially as it was our first-ever Easter Family Fun Day.”

More than 85 family members came along, and the event took place on Sunday, 13th April.
