Siblings enjoyed a day of laughter, creativity and catchy tunes during a lively session with Rocksteady Music School.
The special day was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) for youngsters who are either bereaved or have a brother or sister receiving care at The Nook.
Eight children attended and had the chance to get hands-on with instruments, sing along and even compose their own mini songs. For some, it was a chance to discover a new musical talent or simply enjoy letting loose.
The children then picked their own sandwich fillings before getting rid of any pent-up energy by spending time on the hospice playground.
In the afternoon, they had a chance to get creative by decorating an Easter basket, before setting off on a mini-Easter trail.
“Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, and our sincere thanks go to the team from Rocksteady Music School,” said Clare Oakley, EACH’s Groups and Events Co-ordinator at The Nook.
“They were fantastic and ensured the children had a fun, amazing time – setting the perfect tone for laughter, creativity and connection.
“It gave them an opportunity to forge new friendships, and seeing the children experiment with instruments and make their own songs was great to witness.
“Our sibling days are all about making them feel special, and this was a particularly great example of that.”
The day finished with parents joining the children for tea and cake, where they could hear about their day of fun.
Clare added that she was grateful to two volunteers who joined her and helped make the day possible.
