“It was a golden opportunity to join our wonderful community and be part of this special and popular event” – shop staff and volunteers get in the spirit by organising a teddy tombola and running a stall at Royston’s May Fayre

Shop staff and volunteers flew the flag for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) while meeting visitors at Royston’s May Fayre.

The team from EACH’s High Street store attended and ran a stall at the event, which took place in Priory Memorial Gardens.

They organised a children’s teddy tombola, as well as selling items including jigsaws and jewellery.

“It was a golden opportunity to join our wonderful community and be part of this special and popular event,” said EACH’s Royston shop manager, Terri Rolph.

“As well as meeting those who already support us, it was nice to meet many others and tell them more about our beautiful shop.

“We’re extremely proud of it, and it was good to have lots of positive conversations about the care and support EACH provides.”

EACH’s Royston shop recently marked its fifth birthday, with staff, customers and volunteers coming together for a week-long celebration.

“The kindness of customers, donors and volunteers is something we never take for granted, helping us raise vital funds,” added Terri.

“People sometimes think of charity shops as just places to pick up a bargain, but they’re about more than that. They’re friendly community spaces, giving pre-loved items a second life and helping fund the care and support families rely on.”

The Royston May Fayre took place on Bank Holiday Monday (4th May).
