Around 450 people helped raise nearly £2,000 during a popular community Easter event at The Nook.
The fun day featured an egg hunt, arts and crafts, a tombola, raffle and refreshments and was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
There was also live music courtesy of steel pan band Spangle and BroadBeat Choir.
“We were expecting 300 people, so delighted to welcome around 450,” said EACH Senior Community Fundraiser Ellie Miller.
“It was an amazing turnout and lots of families came along, including several that receive support here at The Nook.
“There was a lovely atmosphere from start to finish.
“We had lots of positive, supportive comments and people clearly had a great time, enjoying the opportunity to see and enjoy our beautiful hospice grounds.
“It’s a stunning, tranquil place and this was an opportunity to showcase that, as well as raising awareness and perhaps changing perceptions.
“We’re very grateful to everyone who came along and showed their support, as well as the amazing volunteers who worked hard and helped ensure everything ran smoothly.”
Children had the chance to hunt for letters around the hospice grounds which formed a word. Those that worked out the word won a chocolate egg.
The public also had a chance to see the new playground and Rest and Reflect Garden, for children and families receiving care and support from EACH.
Another memorable moment came when enthusiasts from the Norwich Scooter Collective drove past as part of an eye-catching convoy, on route to the nearby EACH offices at Manor Farm Barns.
In addition to raising in the region of £1,200 for EACH, they also collected Easter eggs to be distributed across the community.
Sunday’s event was the second public Easter Egg-stravaganza to be organised by EACH.
The eggs were donated by Tesco, Nationwide, NIQ Brandbank and One Stop, with the raffle prizes supplied by Hoveton Hall Estate, Motorsport Vision – Snetterton and Willow Gallery Ceramic Painting Studio.
