“Parents say it’s very beneficial and gives their children a chance to have fun together in a safe, familiar environment” – end-of-term Treetots party was for babies and youngsters up to the age of five

Pre-school children and their parents came together for an afternoon of songs, stories and fun at The Treehouse.

The session was for babies and youngsters up to the age of five and organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

EACH runs its Treetots sessions every other Monday during term time, for children receiving care at its Ipswich base.

As well as starting and finishing with ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ songs, they enjoyed nursery rhymes and using sensory toys like shakers, ribbons, bubbles and balloons.

“We had a lovely end-of-term party together,” said EACH Play Specialist Hailey Allen.

“The parents met to have lunch, which is a great opportunity for them to socialise and relax.

“Then we came together for a facilitated play session, which included singing and sensory play.

“Members of our occupational therapy and physical therapies teams help me run the group and we’ve had some lovely feedback from parents.

“They say it’s very beneficial and gives their children a chance to have fun together in a safe, familiar environment.”

The Treetots sessions will return in September.
