“It was our first Easter event but hopefully now it’s here to stay and will become an established date in the diary” – more than 400 people help raise over £1,500 by attending EACH’s community fun day at The Treehouse

Families came together for a day of Easter fun at The Treehouse – in the process helping raise more than £1,500 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The special fundraiser featured an egg hunt, facepainting, stalls, games, refreshments and a popular petting zoo, courtesy of Our Animal World.

More than 400 people attended and it came hot on the heels of EACH opening its doors for community Winter Wonderland events in 2022 and 2023.

“We were thrilled to welcome so many families and members of the public to our beautiful hospice,” said EACH Senior Community Fundraiser Anna Bruce.

“It exceeded all expectations, both in terms of the number that attended and the amount raised, especially given the wet and windy conditions.

“Everything ran smoothly and everyone seemed to have a lovely time. I certainly had lots of positive conversations on the day.

“It was our first Easter event but hopefully now it’s here to stay and will become an established date in the diary, just like Winter Wonderland.”

The Easter fun day took place between 11am and 3pm on Good Friday.

Among those to attend were several children and families who receive care and support at The Treehouse.

“I had some lovely conversations with them and it was one of my favourite parts of the day,” added Anna.

“Families are clearly proud of the hospice and, by coming along, they wanted to show their support and be part of our special day.”

Meanwhile, a date has been set for EACH’s public Winter Wonderland fundraiser at The Treehouse.

It will take place between 3pm and 6pm on Sunday, 8th December.

“It seems a long way off but will be here before we know it,” said Anna.

“People were asking me about it on Good Friday, saying they wanted to put the date on their calendar and in their diaries.

“It’s lovely to hear their positivity and be blessed with such incredible public support.”
