Families came together for a day of music and dancing at a festival-style get-together.
EACHFest was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and took place at its Milton base.
It was for children, young people and their families, and highlights included live music on the front lawn, mocktails, facepainting, ice creams and festival food.
It was hosted by DJ Steve Watts, and there were various exciting workshops, including a bubble station, circus skills and African drumming.
Live music was provided by Shania Grace (Songs from the Musicals), duet Charlie and Rehanna and the band Blue Shelter.
In total, 88 people representing 25 families came along, and the event was also open to families being supported at EACH’s hospices in Norfolk and Suffolk.
“Traditionally EACHFest has been an event for young people moving into adult hospice care,” said Ceri Dobson, EACH’s Groups and Events Co-ordinator at Milton.
“This year, we made the decision to open it up to all current families to enjoy and what a day it was.
“The weather was kind, and it was lovely and warm, without being scorching.
“Everyone had tremendous fun, and we got in the festival vibe with straw bales, hundreds of metres of bunting and staff on hand to provide funky mocktails.
“It’s definitely one to watch out for next year for anyone who missed out on the fun.”
EACHFest is a popular and long-running event in the charity’s calendar, and this year’s event took place between 11am and 4pm on 16th August.
Ceri said she was grateful to Peter from Manor Farm Landbeach (for the loan of the straw bales), George and Martin at 2020 Events (African drumming workshop), Hannah and Hannah at High Voltage Events (stilt walker, circus skills and bubble workshop), Emma at Candyfloss Cove (facepainting), Milton Tesco (for providing ice creams and toppings) and Ashley Radley at AR Events (stage and sound).
