Laughter, lights and festive cheer filled the air as families supported by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) came together for a magical Christmas party.
The Nook was transformed into a twinkling winter wonderland, complete with sensory-friendly activities and a special visitor from the North Pole.
Santa Claus himself met families in his magical grotto, handing out gifts and capturing the moment with keepsake photos.
Other highlights included entertainment on the care floor, games, activities, crafts, making reindeer food and throwing pom-pom snowballs.
“This is always a flagship event for us, and we wanted to create something truly magical for families to enjoy,” said Clare Oakley, EACH’s Groups and Events Co-ordinator at The Nook.
“It’s an opportunity to bring people together for an afternoon of joy, connection and laughter, all wrapped in the spirit of Christmas.
“The festive period can be challenging for many families, so putting on an event where they can create magical memories is incredibly important.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who helped bring the party to life, including staff and our wonderful volunteers.
“Seeing families relax, celebrate and have fun together was a very special moment.”
The Nook’s grounds were transformed into a sparkling sea of fairy lights, and the entertainment inside included a game where a dad and member of staff were turned into snowmen after being wrapped in toilet roll.
Families were able to make their own reindeer food to scatter at home, while the sensory corner included tactile beads and giant pom-poms the size of snowballs.
They were able to play a ‘pin the nose on Rudolph’ game and take part in a craft activity using paper chains to make Santa’s beard.
There was also a mouth-watering spread of festive food for everyone to enjoy, thanks to the hospice’s facilities team.
The party was attended by more than 100 people and took place on Saturday, 6th December.
