Bargain-hunters have the chance to pick up gems while finding out more about the work of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Staff and volunteers from the charity’s Bowthorpe shop are running a stall at the Costessey Fete and Fayre, at the Norfolk Showground and Events Centre. They will be selling quality ladies’ and children’s clothing and shoes throughout the day on Saturday, 20th September. The event promises fun for the whole family, and the charity’s stall will offer quality pre-loved garments at great prices.
Colourful posters have been on display to help spread the word, and visitors are being encouraged to stop by, grab a bargain and learn more about EACH.
“I’m really looking forward to it and being out in the community is absolutely vital to the work we do,” said Bowthorpe Shop Manager Michelle Hinton. “It’s about more than raising funds – it’s about building relationships, increasing awareness and showing people how their support can make a real difference, right here where they live.”
Other highlights of the fete will be food and drink, a licenced bar, live bands, local groups, facepainting, crafts, fireworks and a funfair. The fete will continue on Sunday, although the EACH team will only be present on Saturday.
Meanwhile, anyone interested in volunteering in the Bowthorpe shop can pop in for a chat, email Michelle via [email protected] or call 01603 732874.
This year alone, EACH needs to raise £8 million from donations and fundraising activities and £9.8 million in retail income. Only 15% of its income comes from the government, county councils and the NHS.
