Children and families became musical “superstars” during a day of fun organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Fifteen people representing four families, in addition to two children receiving care at Milton, joined the session with Rocksteady Music School. After listening to songs, they had the chance to get involved by singing, playing instruments and forming their own band.
“We had a fantastic afternoon, and the children were wonderful – absolute superstars,” said Rocksteady Music School’s Laura Sewell, who was joined by colleagues Sam Dean and Luke Puzzar. “We started by playing a few songs to the children, and you could see their excitement. They were raring to go! It was lovely to see so many happy faces throughout the afternoon, from the children, their parents and the fabulous staff at Milton.
“We spent the afternoon jamming out, and watching their confidence grow in just a few hours was incredible.”
Rocksteady Music School are due to return to Milton in August, for a Muscular Dystrophy Day.
“The Rocksteady team were amazing and brought a whole range of instruments for the children to try,” said EACH Groups and Events Coordinator Ceri Dobson. “It was fantastic to see the children settle and come out of their shells during the session. Their confidence clearly grew.”
