“It was an incredible result and a real testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone who gave their time to support us” – Royal Norfolk Show visitors raise more than £2,500 for EACH

Generous visitors to this year’s Royal Norfolk Show helped raise more than £2,500 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Members of the charity’s retail and community fundraising teams ran a stall throughout the two-day event, held on 24th and 25th June at the Norfolk Showground. Despite soaring temperatures leading to lower footfall on the opening day, supporters and volunteers worked tirelessly to engage visitors, raise funds and spread awareness of EACH’s work. The team enjoyed a much busier second day, with cooler temperatures and a bigger crowd.

“We were absolutely thrilled to raise just over £2,500 across the two days,” said Natasha Butler, EACH’s Senior Community Fundraiser for Norfolk. “It was an incredible result and a real testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone who gave their time to support us. The first day was incredibly hot, making conditions difficult for both volunteers and visitors, but our amazing team kept smiling and gave it their all. The cooler weather on the second day brought more people through the gates, and across both days we had so many meaningful conversations with members of the public about the work EACH does.”

The Royal Norfolk Show is the country’s largest two-day agricultural show, attracting thousands of visitors with more than 700 trade stands, 3,000 animals and a packed Grand Ring programme.

“Events like this are about so much more than fundraising,” added Natasha. “They’re a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness, meet supporters and help more people understand the difference EACH makes to families across East Anglia. We couldn’t have achieved such a great result without our brilliant volunteers and colleagues, and we’re incredibly grateful to every single one of them – not to mention everyone who stopped by for a chat, made a donation and got involved in our activities.

“I’d also like to thank the businesses who so generously donated to our raffle and tombola – Aleks Jewellers, Flint Vineyard, Norfolk Museums, Barrett & Coe, Black Shuck Distillery, Marks & Spencer, Harris & James and One Stop Poringland.”
