Families gathered for an afternoon of games, dancing and belated New Year celebrations.
The party was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) for children and families receiving care and support at The Treehouse.
Fifty-four family members, representing 14 families, enjoyed the festivities at Grundisburgh village hall, on Saturday.
Other highlights included table football, air hockey and a photo booth, as well as a visit from a Clown Doctor and a PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog.
The families played games, with certificates and stickers up for grabs, enjoyed a feast of food and recreated a New Year countdown as the clock struck ‘midnight’.
Kelly Evans, EACH’s Groups and Events Co-ordinator at The Treehouse, said: “We’ve had some lovely feedback, and it’s fair to say a good time was had by all.
“Families told us they appreciated the personal touches, like having pictures of their children on display around the room.
“One mum told us she was completely taken aback and how much she loved the photo of her son high-fiving Ipswich Town footballer Conor Chaplin.
“We tried hard to make it special, handing out funny glasses, hats and party blowers, and it was a lovely moment when the clock struck ‘midnight’ and we were able to fire our confetti cannons.
“Things like the table football and air hockey also proved popular.
“They gave siblings an opportunity to intermingle, and both were constantly in use, so were obviously a hit.”
The music was provided by JLA Sound and Light, and Kelly said she was also grateful to Clown Doctor Chris Draude and Bernadette Mooney and PAT dog Bailey.
