“We were thrilled to raise as much as we did. Thanks go to everyone who came along, volunteered or donated, showing such generosity and community spirit” – memorable Christmas events raise nearly £6,000

Festive events including a traditional Christmas market, a gift and food fayre and an eye-catching lights switch-on have collectively raised nearly £6,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The Christmas market took place at Gog Magog Golf Club, in Shelford Bottom, Cambridge.

It featured a day of tasting, chat and festive cheer as generous stall-holders donated proceeds from their sales, taking the opportunity to showcase products including preserves, fudge, bakes and crafts.

Visitors had the chance to sip on a warming mulled wine and sample festive delights, and the day was part of Gog Magog Golf Club’s ongoing partnership with EACH.

Taking place on 26th November, it raised an incredible £4,252 and followed hot on the heels of a Christmas gift and food fayre at Ely Cathedral.

EACH had a stall at the four-day spectacular, selling Christmas cards, calendars and bags designed by Norfolk artist and EACH ambassador Lucy Loveheart.

They also sold various beautiful items made and contributed by volunteers, and, overall, the team raised £1,383.

The final event was a collection during the Christmas lights switch-on in Cambridge, organised by EACH’s fundraising team in collaboration with the charity’s shop in Fitzroy Street, which raised £242.

“We were thrilled to raise as much as we did from three beautiful events,” said Victoria Goldsmith, EACH’s Senior Community Fundraiser in Cambridgeshire.

“Thanks go to everyone who came along, volunteered or donated, showing such generosity and community spirit.

“In addition to so many positive conversations, raising awareness of our charity, these vital funds will make a genuine difference to the children and families receiving our care and support.”

EACH has three hospices, including one at Milton.
