Members of the public got on-board to show their support for a popular miniature railway fundraiser.
They were able to enjoy rides throughout the day and the revenue from fares raised £966 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The special charity day featured steam, electric and internal combustion locomotives and was hosted by Eaton Park Miniature Railway, in Norwich.
In addition to train rides, there was also a stall run by members of The Nook Friends group, which raised £237, while loose change from a bucket collection gleaned another £37 – bringing the total to £1,240.
EACH volunteer Lynn Gooderham said: “It was such a lovely, successful day and we’re so grateful to Eaton Park Miniature Railway.
“I can’t stress enough how brilliant and supportive they are, going above and beyond to make the day such fun.
“They treat us like royalty and put on such a brilliant day, which proved as popular as ever.
“Adults and children alike were queuing from start to finish and it was great to see so many happy, smiling faces. A good time was had by all.”
Eaton Park Miniature Railway is operated by the Norwich and District Society of Model Engineers (N&DSME).
This was its seventh fundraiser for EACH, with the first being in 2015.
Park visitors were invited to bring a picnic, have a ride and watch the trains go by.
The day was supported by The Nook Friends group, who were on hand to share information about EACH.
Volunteers Lynn, Marianne Betts, Gill Gooderham and their respective husbands ran stalls featuring a matchbox game, a surprise bag game and a tombola.
EACH Community Fundraiser Megan Kemp said: “Once again, our sincere thanks go to everyone at Eaton Park Miniature Railway.
