Fundraisers delivered tasty treats during a whistlestop tour of the region – in the process raising awareness of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The charity’s corporate team headed out to businesses across Cambridge, Ipswich, Norwich and Peterborough for their first Doughnut Dash.
They hand-delivered nearly 50 boxes of the sugary snacks, in return for colleagues signing up and sharing details about EACH – and in particular its Business Circle – on social media channels like LinkedIn.
“We had such a brilliant, fun and busy week,” said Billie Nugent, a Senior Corporate Fundraiser at EACH.
“It wasn’t necessarily about raising funds – it was more about awareness, spreading the word about the work we do and telling colleagues about our Business Circle.
“It was our way of saying thanks to existing supporters, while also meeting new people and making them aware of the benefits of becoming a member.
“As well as reaching thousands via social media, we’ve had some fantastic, positive conversations and engagement since, making it a big success.”
In order to take part, companies signed up and pre-ordered their original glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
The EACH team then hand-delivered them to grateful staff, as well as distributing Business Circle leaflets.
In return, hungry recipients took photos and shared information online.
There were four separate Doughnut Dash days, in Cambridge, on 30th September, Ipswich, on 1st October, Peterborough, on 2nd October, and Norwich, on 3rd October.
The Business Circle – a corporate venture open to companies across East Anglia – launched during Children’s Hospice Week in June 2023.
Members have the chance to build connections and attend events, while at the same time making a financial commitment to EACH.
The cost to join is £1,000 a year, including VAT, and membership includes the chance to visit one of EACH’s hospices.
