“It’s a local charity and one that’s well-known and respected within our community. People are keen to get behind it and show their support” – EACH is the chosen partner for this month’s Bungay Beer and Music Festival

Cheers!

Music-lovers are digging deep to help raise vital funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

EACH is once again the chosen charity partner for this month’s popular Bungay Beer and Music Festival.

The free event, which began in 2016, is taking place at the Maltings Pavilion, in Pirnhow Street, on Friday and Saturday (23rd and 24th August).

Last year, generous festival-goers raised nearly £3,500 and hopes are high for similar fundraising success in 2024.

In addition to bucket collections, organisers have produced special Bungay Beer and Music Festival T-shirts, with part of the proceeds going to EACH.

The T-shirts, which cost £12, are also available in advance at the charity’s Bungay shop, in Market Place.

Organiser Stuart Buck said: “We’re delighted to be supporting such an incredible and worthy cause once again.

“It’s a local charity and one that’s well-known and respected within our community. People are keen to get behind it and show their support.

“On a personal note, I’ve always been aware of its work and previously organised golf days and fundraisers for the former Quidenham hospice.

“However, having been invited along to The Nook last year, it really brought home what an incredible and important charity EACH is.

“It’s not just there for the babies, children and young people receiving care but also on hand to support their families.”

This year’s festival will feature a selection of real ales and ciders, as well as wines, spirits, lagers and soft drinks. There will also be food trucks and family entertainment on the Saturday.

Friday’s live music offering includes 4D Jones and The Harpoons UK, with Saturday’s bill featuring Butcher’s Dog, Nr Ska, Mike and the Satanics, Blue Plate Specials and Brew Orleans.

Entry is free, with organisers simply suggesting a donation to EACH.

EACH’s Senior Community Fundraiser for Norfolk, Ellie Miller, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the Bungay Beer and Music Festival.

“We wouldn’t be able to do what we do – supporting children, young people and families who need us the most – without the continued support of such amazing people. We’re so grateful.”
