East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is celebrating after winning a prestigious Charity Times Award.
The organisation was successful in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) category, with three colleagues on hand to collect the prize in London on Wednesday night.
The Charity Times Awards celebrate excellence across the charity sector, recognising those that are making a meaningful difference to the lives of people and communities throughout the UK.
EACH’s EDI Committee was established in 2024 and has driven significant change, helping embed inclusive practices across communications, recruitment, training and policy. Key achievements have included the launch of an internal newsletter, EDItion, the introduction of anonymised recruitment and obtaining Disability Confident Employer Level One accreditation and a programme of awareness campaigns such as Pride, Disability Pride Month and Epilepsy Awareness.
“This fantastic achievement is a testament to the dedication, passion and hard work of colleagues across the organisation who continue to champion inclusion, celebrate diversity and help create a culture where everyone feels valued and respected at work,” said EDI Lead David Bartholomew.
“It recognises the significant progress we’ve made and reinforces our commitment to building an inclusive environment for colleagues, volunteers, children, young people and families, where everyone feels supported, heard and able to thrive.
“Lots of people have played a part in our success, and this award belongs to the many colleagues who have contributed to advancing EDI across EACH.”
The ceremony took place at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, where David was joined by fellow EDI Committee members Laura Jenkins, Service Manager at The Treehouse, in Ipswich, and HR Administrator Mila Sousa.
