“I wouldn’t be at this point without the incredible support, guidance, encouragement and belief of the amazing people around me” – EACH and Tina are shortlisted for coveted Student Nursing Times Awards

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) staff are “beyond proud” and “incredibly humbled” after being shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Student Nursing Times Awards.

The charity is in the running for the Community Placement of the Year prize, while Tina Duffield is among the contenders to be named Student Nursing Associate of the Year.

Both EACH and Tina, who is based at The Nook, have been shortlisted after successful nominations, and the winners will be announced on 24th April.

They will have an opportunity to state their case by delivering presentations to a judging panel next month.

Tina, a trainee nursing associate for long-term ventilation, said she felt “incredibly humbled and proud” to be a finalist.

“Seeing the supporting evidence for my nomination brought a tear to my eye, and the kind words mean more to me than I can express,” she added.

“I’m so grateful to work for an organisation that not only supports its staff but actively recognises and celebrates the work we do.

“I wouldn’t be at this point without the incredible support, guidance, encouragement and belief of the amazing people around me.”

The awards celebrate excellence in student nursing education, mentorship, placements and academic achievement across the UK.

The Community Placement of the Year category specifically highlights community-based clinical placements that provide exceptional learning experiences for student nurses.

Both of EACH’s nominations were submitted by Clinical Student Co-ordinator Baz Hill.

“I’m beyond proud that we’ve been shortlisted in two categories at these prestigious awards,” she said.

“EACH rightly deserves to be spotlighted for the amazing student opportunities it provides and the profound positive impact a placement with us has on a student’s journey.

“It’s a real team effort, and this nomination is for every person who supports a learner during their time with us.”

The full shortlist was officially announced on 19th February, and the awards ceremony – billed as an unforgettable afternoon celebrating incredible achievements in student nursing and midwifery – is taking place at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, in Park Lane.

EACH is one of 11 Community Placement of the Year nominations, while Tina will be up against nine others in the Student Nursing Associate of the Year category.
