Daredevil fundraisers have the chance to sign-up for a nerve-jangling abseil to show their support for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The event is taking place at The Form – one of Norwich’s most iconic buildings – on Sunday, 19th April.
Participants will abseil 45 feet to the ground, and early bird tickets – available until the end of January – are available for just £20. Alternatively, a ticket and souvenir t-shirt can be snapped up for £25.
“We’re thrilled to be back in Norwich, having previously staged an abseil in the city two years ago,” said Senior Events Fundraiser Ellie Nevard.
“We had a brilliant day, and 71 people raised just under £20,000.
“Hopefully we can smash that figure this time around, and I’m sure it’s going to be another popular, successful day.
“Anyone that signs up will be in for the ultimate challenge – an adrenaline rush, the chance to conquer fears and enjoy unbeatable views of the city.
“Spaces are limited and bound to go quickly, so my advice is to get in fast.”
The minimum age to take part is 14, although anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult spectator (over 18).
There are slots throughout the day, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, and each participant is asked to raise at least £150.
“Although people’s registration fee helps make the abseil possible, it’s their fundraising that ensures the vital care local families rely on can be delivered,” added Ellie.
“Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, trying something completely new or taking on a personal challenge, it’s a golden opportunity to support EACH.
“By taking part, you’ll be helping make a powerful difference to the children, young people and families we support.”
The Norwich Abseil is the latest addition to a busy events calendar for 2026.
Among the highlights are the Norwich Bubble Rush and Piglet, Junior Hog, as well as EACH’s showpiece pier-to-pier walks in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Everything is now live on the EACH website, and discounted early bird tickets are available until the end of the month.
“What better way to start the new year than by signing up for one of our events – setting yourself a challenge, getting a date in the diary and doing something exciting to support a very special cause,” added Ellie.
“We want to encourage as many people as possible to secure the discounted rate.
“It’s a great way to save money and enjoy our brilliant events at the most affordable price, and the savings really add up – especially for those bringing the whole family.”
The frothy Bubble Rush is taking place at the Norfolk Showground on 17th May.
The course features four bubble stations along a 2.5km loop, which can be completed once or twice, and last year’s event raised a foam-tastic £54,000.
Next up is Pier 2 Pier Norfolk, on 7th June, where the challenge is to walk 32 miles from Cromer Pier to Great Yarmouth Pier along the popular Norfolk Coastal Path.
Last year’s event raised nearly £40,000 and was enjoyed by 49 people.
Tickets are also available for The Piglet, Junior Hog – a firm family favourite – which will once again feature a host of wet and muddy obstacles and is taking place at Wantisden Hall, near Woodbridge, on Sunday, 12th July.
Last summer’s event was enjoyed by more than 1,430 mud-splattered participants and raised over £47,500.
Pier 2 Pier Suffolk is taking place on 12th September, and more than 160 tenacious trekkers raised £24,000 during last year’s 16-mile event, walking from Lowestoft to Southwold.
Early bird ticket sales for all four events close at midnight on 31st January.
