Courageous colleagues soared to new heights in their quest to raise vital funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Twenty-eight representatives of The New Homes Group joined forces with 30 colleagues from Connells Survey and Valuation for a nerve-jangling skydive – between them raising a phenomenal £50,000.
Some completed the feat at Sibon Aerodrome, in Peterborough, and others at Beccles.
The New Homes Group is a long-term supporter of EACH, and the Colchester-based business is one of the headline sponsors of next month’s Happy Christmas East Anglia show.
Holly Byworth, assistant marketing manager for The New Homes Group, co-ordinated the challenge, which saw fearless colleagues plunge 13,000 feet.
She said: “EACH is a charity we’re overwhelmingly proud to support, having seen first-hand the services made available to families throughout East Anglia.
“We’re delighted to continue our involvement and commitment to this incredible charity and forever grateful for all the support we receive from our staff, clients, lenders and suppliers.
“Over the years, we’ve donated in excess of £300,000 and also completed a skydive in 2023, where six participants raised £10,000.
“To help us get there, we’ve arranged other activities like a head shave, raffle and bottle tombola. We’ve also been climbing mountains and taking on personal challenges, thanks to the support of our amazing network.”
Due to the misty conditions, some staff members had to postpone their original skydive date and completed the feat in Peterborough, rather than Beccles.
EACH’s Senior Corporate Fundraiser for Suffolk and East Essex, Billie Nugent, said: “I’m in awe and so grateful to our friends at The New Homes Group and Connells Survey and Valuation.
“Their continued support means so much, and the skydives really highlighted their commitment to our charity.
“They’re clearly determined and passionate about making a difference, helping the children, young people and families receiving our care and support, and I can’t thank them enough.”
Community fundraisers also took on the challenge and dates are already in the diary for more skydives at Beccles in 2025.
They are taking place on 26th April and 20th September. Click on the links to find out more and book your place.
