“We’re so happy to be able to run an event which is not only lots of fun but also brings people together for a fantastic cause. EACH means a lot to us both, having seen the incredible work it undertakes” – Chris and Grant’s second charity football match raises more than £1,000

Footballers hit the back of the net after playing in the second instalment of a popular charity match and raising more than £1,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The contest was arranged by long-time friends Chris Fisher and Grant Miles and took place on the main 3G pitch at The Nest, in Horsford.

Twenty-six players – both male and female and of all abilities – donned their boots and kitted up in support of EACH.

There were many returning faces from the previous year and some new ones, too.

“We’re so happy to be able to run an event which is not only lots of fun but also brings people together for a fantastic cause,” said Chris.

“EACH means a lot to us both, having seen the incredible work it undertakes.

“We’re delighted to be able to help support it again, with a further donation to add to the amount from last year.

“None of this would have been possible without the support of some amazing volunteers, our brilliant photographer, Chloe, and, of course, the players and managers who came together for 90+ minutes of great football.”

Family, friends and colleagues gathered to watch an exciting match, which finished 3-1 to the Blues.

It was followed by a barbecue and trophy ceremony for top goal-scorer and player-of-the-match.

The game took place on 1st June and Chris recently visited The Nook to hand over a cheque to EACH Senior Community Fundraiser Ellie Miller.

Chris and Grant, from Hellesdon, are already planning another match in 2025.
