“We do a few charity events, but this one is extra special and incredibly heartwarming. Everyone agrees it’s a wonderful thing to do for a very deserving cause” – all roads lead to The Nook for Chatsbrook’s annual Santa Drive

A procession of gleaming performance cars caused a stir and put smiles on faces after taking a spin to the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) base in Norfolk.

The eye-catching annual Santa Drive featured 20 dazzling machines and was organised by Chatsbrook.

The fantastic fleet included Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Mustangs.

The convoy started at Chatsbrook’s Ketteringham Hall headquarters, in Church Road, Ketteringham, and snaked its way just over 11 miles to The Nook, with Santa at the wheel of the Chatsbrook Defender.

Children and young people receiving care, in addition to their families, were able to see the cars when they arrived – although pouring rain meant many had to watch from the warmth of inside.

Car-owners had bought tickets in advance, making donations via a dedicated Just Giving page, and, in total, the day raised more than £1,600 for EACH.

Chatsbrook Events Manager Amy Chick said: “It was the third year we’ve organised this day, and, although we were let down by the weather, everyone got in the spirit and made it special.

“The drivers mainly consisted of our clients, but word spread, and others were keen to get involved, including riders on board blood bikes.

“We do a few charity events, but this one is extra special and incredibly heartwarming. Everyone agrees it’s a wonderful thing to do for a very deserving cause.

“It’s something we plan to do for as long as we possibly can.”

Laura Southcott, EACH’s Senior Corporate Fundraiser for Norfolk, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone who took part and all our friends at Chatsbrook.

“This is an event that goes from strength to strength, and the procession makes a spectacular sight.

“It causes a lot of excitement among the children and families, and it’s something everyone looks forward to every year.”

The event took place on Sunday, 8th December.
