“It’s going to be another challenging year as we plan for continued growth in demand for our service. However, with our incredible supporters by our side, we look forward with huge optimism and excitement” – a letter from EACH Chief Executive Kevin Clements

As we look forward to another busy year, I wanted to take a moment on behalf of everyone at East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) to say thank you to our wonderful communities for their extraordinary support during 2025. Such kindness, commitment and loyalty never ceases to amaze me.

Whether you spent money in our shops, donated items, gave up time to volunteer, attended a fundraising event or simply shared a social media post, you played some part in helping us deliver our vital care and support for local children and families. Every contribution, large or small, makes a difference, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you.

It was another year packed with fundraising highlights, including our flagship Pier 2 Pier walks and popular mass-participation events. Then we had last month’s Happy Christmas Ipswich spectacular, hosted by our tireless Patron Griff Rhys Jones, that raised £151,500. These are eye-catching examples, but smaller community events are just as essential, helping us build momentum and raise awareness. Thank you to everyone who helped us along the way.

Our retail operation continues to thrive, with further shop openings taking us to 54. It’s satisfying to report such trading success, bucking the current trend in a challenging sector. Our shops aren’t just places to grab bargains – they’re also community hubs powered by selfless volunteers. Whether sorting donations, greeting customers with a friendly smile or keeping the shelves looking immaculate, they play an irreplaceable role in our work.

All of which means that despite the challenging financial climate, we remain in a position of strength. We are now caring for nearly 750 children, young people and family members and were able to deliver more than 89,000 hours of care and wellbeing support last year. We completed a major renovation of our family accommodation at Milton and, I’m thrilled to say, recently received planning permission for our proposed expansion of The Treehouse, in Ipswich.

It’s going to be another challenging year as we plan for continued growth in demand for our service. However, with our incredible supporters by our side, we look forward with huge optimism and excitement.

Thank you again – and a Happy New Year from everyone at EACH.
