“It’s a privilege to help, and being able to fundraise by doing the thing I love most is just fabulous” – pianist Frances strikes a chord by organising a charity concert for EACH

A long-serving volunteer is combining her passion for music with fundraising by organising a special concert in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Frances Wyatt is performing at the event, being held at West Road Concert Hall, University of Cambridge, at 7.30pm on Saturday, 31st October.

All money raised on the night will go to EACH, which provides care and support to children and families across Cambridgeshire and the rest of East Anglia.

As well as raising funds through ticket sales, volunteers will be carrying out bucket collections, accepting card donations and sharing information about EACH’s work.

Frances has volunteered for EACH since 2017, primarily as a Help at Home volunteer.

She has also supported the charity at events, delivered talks to local community groups and organised a previous fundraising concert in October 2024.

“As a Help at Home volunteer, I see first-hand the massive load families are under and the difference the invaluable support EACH provides can make,” she said.

“It’s a privilege to help, and being able to fundraise by doing the thing I love most is just fabulous.”

Under the baton of conductor Peter Britton, the Orchestra of Britton’s Peers, led by Hazel Keelan, will perform an intriguing programme featuring works by Poulenc, Schoenberg and Weill.

The concert will include performances by Frances and fellow pianist Ivan Garford, culminating in Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Frances for her ongoing support and generosity,” said EACH Community Fundraiser Georgia Knight.

“As a volunteer, she already gives so much of her time to helping families. The fact she’s also using her musical talents to raise vital funds makes this concert even more special.

“Every pound raised will help us continue delivering our services and supporting families across East Anglia.”

Tickets cost £15 and are available by heading here.
