“Whether someone has shopped with us, donated items or volunteered their time, they’ve played a vital part in making our first year such a success” – talented singer Chlo is joining the celebrations at Castle Street

A popular Norwich charity shop is celebrating its first birthday with exclusive discounts, free drinks and live music.

Staff and volunteers at the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) shop in Castle Street are marking the milestone on Saturday, 15th August.

As well as special discounts and refreshment, the music will be provided by talented singer Chlo Atlanta.

Manager Kim Jewell said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us over the past 12 months.

“Whether someone has shopped with us, donated items or volunteered their time, they’ve played a vital part in making our first year such a success.

“They’ve helped us make a real difference in our community, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.

“Now we’re excited to build on that success in the years ahead – welcoming new faces through our doors, continuing to make every donation count and raising even more vital funds for EACH.”

The shop officially opened on 14th August 2025, with teenager Ben Harwood cutting the ribbon, alongside his mum, Bec.

Ben, from Taverham, has the rare genetic disorder Lowe syndrome. He has now transitioned to adult hospice care, having received support from EACH at Quidenham and later The Nook for 13 years.

Anyone interested in volunteering at the Castle Street shop is welcome to pop in for a chat or call 01603 369853.
