“It was a fantastic event, and we were incredibly grateful for the support from clients, consultants and subcontractors, all of whom contributed so generously” – Gipping Construction golf day raises £11,000 for EACH

Golfers teed off for a great cause and helped raise £11,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The popular event was organised by Gipping Construction and brought clients, consultants and subcontractors together for a day of fun on the fairways at Fynn Valley Golf Club.

Gipping has developed a close bond with EACH as it is currently overseeing major expansion work at The Treehouse, in Ipswich.

After hearing from EACH Chief Executive Kevin Clements, 20 teams of four teed off, while guests also took part in a raffle and charity auction that featured prizes including an Ipswich Town ball signed by the squad on the day they secured promotion and an Arsenal shirt signed by Thierry Henry.

Other donated prizes included four-ball golf days, a helicopter flight with champagne, a rare vintage single malt whisky and afternoon tea at Milsoms.

Joe Butler, Commercial Director at Gipping Construction, said: “We’re delighted to have raised £11,000 through hosting our first golf day at Fynn Valley.

“It was a fantastic day, with the weather on our side, and we were incredibly grateful for the support from clients, consultants and subcontractors, all of whom contributed so generously.

“EACH is an outstanding charity, and over the past four months, we’ve developed a much deeper understanding of the vital work they do to support children and families across our region. We’re proud to be able to support them.”

One of the standout moments of the day saw the Arsenal shirt sell for £700 to Calvin Beales, from CJB Scaffolding, who then resold it for £500 and donated the proceeds back to EACH.

“We’re thrilled our first golf day was such a big success,” said Andy Laflin, Managing Director at Gipping Construction.

“Thank you to everyone who supported the event and made it so enjoyable – too many to list, but we couldn’t do it without you.

“Finally, a personal thanks to my colleagues and the team at EACH for their hard work in organising it.”

Billie Nugent, EACH’s Senior Corporate Fundraiser for Suffolk, said she was ‘incredibly grateful’ for Gipping Construction’s support.

She said: “To raise £11,000 through their first golf day is an amazing achievement, and it will make a real difference to children, young people and families supported by EACH.

“The generosity shown throughout the day – from bidding in the auction to donating prizes and going the extra mile – was truly inspiring.

“We’re also very grateful for the close relationship we’re building with Gipping Construction through the expansion of The Treehouse, which will help us continue and grow our care in the years ahead.”
