Equity, diversity and inclusion

Thank you for the commitment, compassion and generosity you bring to our charity. Our volunteers play an essential role in supporting children, young people and families at some of the most challenging moments of their lives, and we are deeply grateful for all that you contribute.

At the heart of our work is a belief in dignity, respect and kindness for everyone. That is why equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are not separate from what we do, but fundamental to how we do it. Inclusion matters because every family we support is unique, and every volunteer who gives their time brings their own experiences, perspectives and strengths.  When people feel welcomed, respected and valued for who they are, we are better able to care for others with empathy and understanding.

We are committed to creating an environment where volunteers feel safe to be themselves, confident that they will be treated fairly, and supported to raise questions or concerns. Our EDI resources are here to help all of us deepen our understanding, challenge bias - both conscious and unconscious - and build positive, respectful relationships with colleagues, families and one another.
