The Treehouse Expansion Project

Hydrotherapy is widely used by the children and young people using our services. It can reduce pain and increase mobility, strength, flexibility, and balance. 

A larger pool would allow the whole family to be able to swim together and create precious memories, as well as bring The Treehouse in line with our other two hospices.

The suite will have dedicated spaces for essential services like counselling, art therapy and music therapy. These therapies support families and help individuals to express emotions and experiences that might be difficult to put into words.

The suite will also include a private entrance better suited for families. Particularly bereaved family members who will no longer have to walk across the care floor - an area that can stir up emotions.

This is the heartbeat of our hospice. A larger area will allow us to host even bigger family events for even more people, allowing families to connect with each other and create memories. It will also be a self-contained area, meaning no more dates having to be cancelled if a child is with us for end-of-life care.

The area will include:

• A comfortable relaxation/floor play area.
• A room for teenagers.
• Additional accessible toilets and changing area.
• Access to the dining area.

The essential medical and mobility equipment we have can take up a lot of space. Not only will the underfloor storage area create greater space for this, but it will also free up a room for another bedroom. 

• A larger kitchen and dining area - growing our catering capacity for families.
• A bigger, separated reception space - a more appropriate space for privately welcoming families and visitors.
• Additional space for our fundraising activity - to meet the ever-increasing need.
• Replacement of temporary office space solution in the car park - ensuring we have adequate, appropriate workspace for everyone.
