“The hospice does amazing work for children and families, so it feels good knowing my entry helps make a difference” – Local Hospice Lottery winner Trevor scoops £2,000 and is pleased to endorse a scheme that supports worthy causes like EACH

A jubilant lottery winner admitted being stunned and delighted after hitting the jackpot and winning £2,000.

Trevor Pickersgill scooped his prize on the Local Hospice Lottery – a weekly draw that provides financial support to adult and children’s hospices across Great Britain, including East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The 78-year-old plans to spend his winnings on coach holidays with his wife and said he was pleased to endorse a scheme that supports vital care in his community.

“I couldn’t believe it when I got the call to say I’d won,” said Trevor, from Sprowston.

“At first, I thought it must be a wind-up, but when I realised it was genuine I was over the moon. It’s a lot of money that will make a real difference.

“I’m obviously delighted to win and a big advocate of the Local Hospice Lottery.

“It’s a cause I’m very happy to support because it helps charities like EACH.

“The hospice does amazing work for children and families, so it feels good knowing my entry helps make a difference.”

Trevor, who has two children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, is now looking forward to some trips with wife Angie.

He recently visited The Nook, EACH’s Norfolk base, where he was given a tour and met staff including Individual Giving Manager Beverley Perry and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships Caroline Allen.

Playing the Local Hospice Lottery in support of EACH gives the public a chance to win £2,000 every week. There are 200 other cash prizes, in addition to a rollover that can reach as high as £25,000.

Players are automatically entered into Super Draws, which take place every March, September and December and have an additional guaranteed top prize of £10,000.
