We had a fantastic time at our recent Young People's Event at Milton. The theme was Virtual Reality and Photography. The young people were able to try out the new Lifelites Virtual Reality equipment, and use the Lifelites iPads to take photos around the hospice building and grounds on a 'photography treasure hunt', or find items from a ‘photography lucky dip’.

The young people also got to make their own pizzas and enjoy an ice cream factory at lunchtime, as well as making UV hats and trying them out in the sensory room, and chilling out with a few games of table tennis, giant Connect 4, and the Xbox.
Lifelites joined us to assist with the technology, and we were able to make really good use of the equipment they’ve supplied us with, including using switches with the iPads and Xbox to help make the photography and gaming activities as accessible and inclusive as possible.
We also welcomed visitors from adult hospices Arthur Rank and Thorpe Hall who joined us for the day.
Feedback about the day was captured through emojis, and we’re pleased to say there were smiley faces all round!
Our next Young People’s Event is EACHfest on 31st July, which is open to young people (aged 13+) across all three hospice localities – click here for more info…
