David Vickers

David is a Consultant Paediatrician with East of England Community Health and Care NHS. His clinical work has included disability and child safeguarding but currently he focuses on Children’s Palliative Care and Long-Term Conditions. Since 2010 he has been Medical Director of EACH. David was instrumental in the development of the East of England Managed Clinical Network for Children’s Palliative Care Hosted by EACH, which he currently chairs.

David was Chair of the NICE Guidelines Development Group that produced "End of life care for infants, children and young people with life-limiting conditions: planning and management" (NG61) in 2016 and a member of the NICE Quality Committee that developed the associated standards (QS160).

David has also been a Trustee of Together for Short Lives and was NHS England’s National Clinical Lead for Specialised Commissioning (Paediatric Palliative Care) until the end 2025. He is currently Treasurer of the Association for Paediatric Palliative Medicine.
