Anna Lipp

Anna qualified as a doctor in 1984 and after varied training in the UK and overseas, settled as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in 2000. Anna worked there until her retirement in 2021.

As well as giving anaesthetics for a variety of surgical specialties, she was Lead Clinician for day surgery, and developed and led the preoperative assessment service. She was also an Honorary Lecturer at the University of East Anglia, developing and teaching the anaesthetic module for medical students.

For 15 years, Anna was a Trustee and then Chair, of a medical charity, the British Association of Day Surgery, which promoted expansion and quality of day surgery services through education and research. Since retiring, she has volunteered as a Ski Instructor at the Norfolk Snowsports club and joined the Meadow makers of Stoke Holy Cross to develop a meadow for the community. She has also had more time for gardening, cycling, cello playing and spending time with her grown up family.
