Meet Senior Community Fundraiser Victoria Goldsmith

Senior Community Fundraiser Victoria Goldsmith has described her role as a “privilege” and says it is “incredibly rewarding” seeing the impact of her work on families supported by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Victoria is based at the charity’s hospice in Milton and joined last May, on a year-long maternity cover contract.

She spent the previous two decades working for regional and national charities, having also gained experience in sales and customer service throughout her career.

“Being so close to the hospice is incredibly special, and it’s a privilege to represent such a meaningful local cause,” she said.

“My role is to raise funds and awareness for EACH across Cambs and West Essex, using whatever approaches are needed.

“It’s a job where you genuinely turn your hand to anything – from collecting Christmas trees and pulling pints to meeting organisations, supporters and community groups. No two days are the same, which makes it so rewarding.

“I’ve also been involved in recruiting and training the community fundraiser in our team, and I’ve joined a special thanking working group.

“I absolutely love it, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact we’re helping achieve.”

Aside from her career in the third sector, Victoria, who is married, lives near St Ives and has a 12-year-old son, spent two years working as a holiday rep in Gran Canaria. She says it gave her valuable experience in communication, problem‑solving and working with people from all backgrounds.

Now she is very happy to be settled and established at Milton, relishing the opportunity to make a tangible difference to children and families across Cambridgeshire and the rest of East Anglia.
