“We realise how lucky we are to have such high-profile support. It helps shine a global light on the care and support we provide” – Ed Sheeran auction featuring glasses, trainers, mugs and a bracelet is set to raise vital funds for EACH

More quirky items donated by megastar Ed Sheeran are being sold online to raise vital funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The bounty of goodies includes eco-friendly glasses, trainers, ‘mummy and daddy to be’ mugs and a beaded friendship bracelet.

Nearly 60 items will feature in the seven-day auction via EACH’s eBay site, going live on Sunday, 7th December.

Everything in the collection, which was delivered to the charity’s shop in Bridge Street, Framlingham, will begin with a price tag of £9.99.

“Ed and his family have donated a wealth of garments and accessories over many years, generating so much excitement and fascination,” said Scott Campbell, EACH’s eCommerce Manager.

“In fact, since our first auction in 2016, we’ve raised over £70,000 on his second-hand clothing alone.

“It’s an extraordinary amount, and we realise how lucky we are to have such high-profile support. It’s invaluable and helps shine a global light on the care and support we provide to children and their families.”

The highest-selling item since the opening auction has been a pink, medium-sized Ipswich Town kit, which was designed in collaboration with Ed and raised £592.

Worn by the singer-songwriter, the shirt’s colour represents the iconic pink cottages scattered across Suffolk and features a silhouette of Framlingham Castle, made famous by Ed’s track ‘Castle on Hill’.

A signed Heinz tomato ketchup bottle, inspired by Ed’s tattoo of the condiment label, sold for £470, while a worn Ralph Lauren hoodie raised £333.

In addition to the glasses, bracelet and mugs, the latest batch of goodies includes worn Nike Air Max 90 trainers.

As previously, garments will not be washed or ironed – being sold as received – and will be accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity.

Singer-songwriter Ed is a long-time supporter of EACH, meeting staff and families at The Treehouse, in Ipswich, after becoming an Ambassador in 2014.

The 34-year-old memorably performed an acoustic set at a gala fundraiser at Cambridge’s Natural History Museum in 2016. He donated a drum kit which was auctioned for £2,650, and the evening raised more than £262,000.

Meanwhile, a selection of Ed’s donations are still up for grabs at EACH’s Framlingham shop. The store is open from 9am until 5pm, every day except Sunday, and fans are encouraged to pop in and pick up a unique piece of memorabilia in time for Christmas.
