Thinking caps at the ready – it’s time to get quizzing and raise money for EACH

Get your thinking caps on and prepare for some festive fun – all in the name of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Husband and wife Jack Hedley and Amelia Reynolds have compiled their third festive quiz for families to enjoy over the Christmas and New Year holiday.

It can be printed off and used at any family or group get-together, in exchange for a donation to EACH.

Topics to test the grey matter include general knowledge, food and drink and celebrity and country picture rounds.

It is the third year the couple have produced a quiz, with the last two raising an incredible combined total of £2,800.

“After the success of the previous two, Jack and I have compiled another Christmas quiz for anyone getting together with family and friends this year,” said Amelia, who lives in Colchester.

“It’s not an event as such – more a quiz that can be printed off and used at any get-together over Christmas and the New Year.

“It started out as just a family quiz one Christmas Day.

“Then family and friends started asking for copies and it grew and grew. That’s when we spotted an opportunity to make some money for a worthy cause.

“This year’s quiz comprises 60 questions with a mix of general knowledge, food and drink, celebrity and country picture rounds and Christmas trivia.

“We also have a Zoom-friendly version for those who want to run it remotely.

“Once again, we’re raising money for EACH – an incredible charity providing a range of services for children with life-limiting illnesses.

“Our friend’s teenage son has benefitted greatly from their care so it’s very close to our hearts and we’ll do whatever we can to help.”

“We simply ask for a minimum £5 donation and then email the quiz to the donator.”

To get a copy of the quiz, make your donation by heading to this JustGiving page.

JustGiving sends donations straight to EACH and automatically reclaims Gift Aid, if the donator is a UK taxpayer.

“Once we see your name on JustGiving – please put your full name – we’ll email you the quiz pack including instructions,” added Amelia.

“It may also be best to drop Jack a quick email ( to ensure we don’t miss you. Please share this with your friends.”

Tina Burdett, EACH Community Fundraising Manager, described Amelia and Jack’s support as “invaluable”.

She said: “What a fantastic idea and obviously one that’s working, having raised an incredible £1,060 last year. Already this year they’ve raised more than £500.

“It’s invaluable, especially at this time of year, for families who rely on our services.

“We wish them – and everyone who chooses to take part – well for this year’s Christmas quiz.”

EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions.

It has three hospices – one at The Treehouse, in Ipswich, one at The Nook, near Norwich, and one at Milton, near Cambridge.

Notes to Editors

“I cannot imagine our lives without EACH now and I sometimes wish we hadn’t let the fear of the word hospice put us off for so long. We’re truly grateful for the constant support we receive.”

  • Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management support, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies and counselling, all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.
